Cricket at the Gymkhanas

I have the privilege to stay close to the best 5 gymkhanas in mumbai (all in a row). Yes, I am talking about the gymkhanas at Marine Drive. I enjoy playing cricket here. But more than playing,I like watching the hilarious events that happen during the game. Here are a few for your humour. Scenario : Your team has reached the gymkhana & claimed your 22 yards of land,you exhult with joy & proclaim 'Let the games begin! Except (here's the fun part)...its Sunday morning & the gymkhana is packed with a dozen other teams whose all have a sole objective in mind...'PLAY CRICKET!!' PS : At this moment,even the gods looking from the heavens say,"My god! Look at that crowd!" Your fieldsmen scatter on the ground & the game (and fun) starts. On-field situation is as follows : Longoff : "who's team am I fielding for ??" Third man : "there are 3 balls coming towards me.Which one am i supposed to stop?" Square leg : takes a catch & jumps with joy only to realise another team's fielder come to ask their ball from him. Bowler : bowls a wide ball that hits the stumps of another team playing behind. That team's umpire : "who bowled my batsmen?!" Your second slip : part-time wicket keeper for the adjacent team Square leg : had to move to deep square leg as he was threatended by another team for standing on their pitch Silly Midoff : has a sore bum due to a ball hit from the adjacent team. 12th man : just finished serving water to the adjacent team thinking it was his team's drink break Finally,the match gets over & your team sits together for some rest. But you realise that the 'Deep fine leg' fielder is not with you. No one told him that the match was over.Poor guy is still fielding other teams' fours & sixes. Indeed! Cricket is a wonderful sport!
