Toastmaster speech tips

This blog has the Dos & Donts that I gather during/after my toastmasters meeting. Hope fellow toastmasters find these helpful. (Note : I will update these tips as & when I get more of these) Tips:
  • -Start with a good quote relevant to your speech.
  • -Say the title of the speech in the beginning (So that listeners know what is your speech all about).
  • -Give examples to illustrate your point.
  • -Use word of the day.
  • -End your speech with a quote.
  • -Add lots of humor. It is the best way to connect with your audience.
  • -The speech should be structured.
  • -Avoid slang.
  • -Rehearse a lot.
  • -Avoid unnecessary movements on the stage.
  • -Avoid boring factual details.
